Do you offer in-person or virtual counseling?
We offer both in-person counseling in the Heights in Houston, Texas, and secure telehealth sessions for clients located anywhere in Texas. Telehealth services are provided through a HIPAA-compliant platform to protect your privacy.
Do you accept insurance?
Jennifer Welch Counseling is an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance directly at this time. Payment is due at the time of service. Upon request, we can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
How long are sessions and what are your fees?
Therapy sessions are approximately 50 minutes in length. Extended sessions may be available when clinically appropriate.
Initial Diagnostic Evaluation - $185
Individual Psychotherapy Session - $170
Emergency/After-Hours Session - $200

Fees are discussed prior to beginning services so that you can make an informed decision about your care. Under federal law, clients who are not using insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the anticipated cost of services.
What can I expect during the first appointment?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and discuss what brings you to counseling. Together, we will explore your goals, answer any questions you may have and determine how I can best support you.
Is counseling confidential?
Protecting your privacy is very important. Information shared in counseling is kept confidential except in circumstances required by law, such as concerns regarding safety, abuse or neglect, or court orders.​ Additional information regarding privacy practices is available in the Notice of Privacy Practices provided by the practice.​ If you have questions regarding the privacy of your health information or believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may contact Jennifer Welch Counseling, PLLC. You have the right to file a complaint without fear of retaliation.
How do I request copies of my records?
Clients have the right to request access to their records and to request corrections to information contained in those records. Requests may be submitted in writing by contacting Jennifer Welch Counseling PLLC.
What if I am experiencing a mental health crisis?
